  Football

SPORT - Football

The Aussie Rules Footy carnival will again be a major showcase of this year's festival. Football has been loved and embraced by the Jawoyn people for decades. It is the source of much passion and excitement. The prestige of the festival only heightens these passions.

The competition attracts upward of 20 teams from all over the Territory, whom compete tenaciously to try and lift the cup. The talents and skills of the players are prodigious, and the Jawoyn region has produced numerous players who have played in the AFL. The rare skills of Indigenous players add a miracalous dimension to AFL footy and these attributes will again ensure a magnificent spectacle for all in attendance.
